The Interiors Engineering department, within Delta Technical Operations, implements new passenger cabins and reconfigures existing cabins in Delta's aircraft fleet through the development and deployment of engineering solutions. The department supports the reconfiguration of Delta's cabins as an effort to improve our passengers' overall experience. Within Interiors Engineering, the department is comprised of two teams: Cabin Avionics and Cabin Design. Interiors Engineering is currently seeking a Project Leader that will support both teams by ensuring Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) are met based on the reconfiguration of cabins.

The successful candidate(s) will serve as a Project Leader, ICA Analyst and support both department teams whose roles and responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Development and oversight of supplier aircraft technical manual supplements, supplier ICAs, and maintenance program changes to support interiors cabin modification projects
  • Work in partnership with suppliers to develop manual supplements, ICAs, and maintenance program changes that are tailored to existing Delta Programs
  • Ensure that all supplements accurately implement the aircraft changes accomplished during interiors cabin modification projects
  • Coordinate supplemental type certificate ICAs with Delta technical procedures and maintenance program departments for incorporation
  • Ensure compliance to FAA regulations, engineering documentation, and other substantiating data as outlined in the Technical Operation Policies & Procedures (TOPP)
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical engineering documents/drawings, analytical data, Federal Aviation Regulations, Airworthiness Directives, and other aircraft technical information
  • Work closely with a variety of departments including, but not limited to, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Tech Procedures, Maintenance, Materials, Production Control, Maintenance Programs, Supplier Operations, and others to ensure all aircraft manual content meets FAA, ATA, and Delta standards
  • Ensure safety conscious behaviors are incorporated into all procedures contained in supplier aircraft technical manuals
  • Basic knowledge of commercial aviation documentation and guidance specifications (i.e. ATA 100, iSpec2200, S1000D, etc.)

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Technical knowledge of the aircraft and an understanding of aircraft maintenance procedures, programs, and manuals (IPC, AMM, WDM, MEL, ICAs, EWIS, etc.)
  • Self-starter with excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Able to handle several projects simultaneously with minimum supervision, well-organized, and able to prioritize work to meet established deadlines
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of structured authoring (SGML, S1000D, XML, and etc.)
  • Embrace diverse people, thinking and styles
  • Must be performing satisfactorily in present position
  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Maintenance Technician background with A&P license
  • Experience in AutoCAD, Epic Editor, Serna, MS Office products, and Adobe Professional preferred
